Science Fair Reflection
Today in science we learned about the procedures of a fair test. We made made a flow chart (google slide) to show all the steps in making a fair test. The steps are as followed: 1. To make a title about your fair test, 2. Make a hypothesis or what you may think will happen in the experiment, 3. Is to create your experiment and write the procedure and items needed, 4. Is to perform your experiment. 5. You must analyse your data and record your info, if the data is inaccurate you must perform the experiment again, 6. Now all you have to is communicate your results. It is recommended that you do the experiment multiple times to make sure your data is accurate. Everyone must follow this procedure in doing a fair test and I will do it for next year for the school science fair.

Animation For Perimeter And Area
On Friday 9R had to make an animation (on google slides or another animation website) about area and perimeter. My animation explains the basics of perimeters and area and how to find them in a shape. Explaining perimeter and area was fairly easy to do, it was just making the transitions and the actual animation was time consuming, however next time I could make it faster and have less slides. Something I was hoping to work on was to explain how to to find the area on a triangles, parallelograms and other 2D shapes. Here is my animation. Enjoy.

All About Jamaica
For the past few weeks my partner Lucas and I had been making a video about Jamaica and researched about it and took notes to put onto the video. All we did was record some photos of Jamaica and inserted some facts about Jamaica onto the video. It was my first time making and editing a video so you will have to forgive me as I have editing skills to work. Here is the video. Hope you enjoy

About Me
My name is Rome. I have been to many schools like Kawakawa Primary, Okaihau Primary, Te Awamutu Primary and Te Awamutu Intermediate but I am currently a year 9 student at bay of islands college. I am Maori and I have like 6 siblings but one passed away.
A subject I enjoy is PE, I am alright at maths and writing. Some personal things I enjoy is gaming, camping, eating, listening to music and computers. I do some sports and am still trying to find something I am good at. I don't have any long term goals this year nor any challenges, but for next year I want to get a part time job to earn more money.
A goal for this year is to save up my money and not waste it all on the tuck shop, a goal is too also make sure I get good grades. A future goal is to work at a good paying job, start a family and live in a decent house.

Maths Video
Last week our class had been in pairs to make a video about our new topic (measurements). My partner Lucas and I had made a video about the mass of 3 A books on a scale. Here is the video he had made (I had been sick on the day).

Clean Up
On Friday the 13th, went to town to pick up all the rubbish that was on Commercial Street to Derrick Road to Albert Street to help save the environment. We started by walking down the road to the park and picked up a few bits of rubbish. We then met up with a man from the northern advocate who would take photos of us picking up rubbish. We walked through commercial street picking up a lot of beer cans and bottles, even some shoes and an ignition . We walked all the way to the end of Kawakawa Primary School. We then walked back through town to the dairy to get a feed. We then spent a bit at the park and played there for a while. It was pretty fun and it was cool, mostly at the end.

The Ihumatao Protests
For social studies we have been looking into the protests that have been happening in South Auckland, Ihumatao, We chose from 3 questions to write a 600 word essay about. The questions were: Why does the Maori not want to give the land to the government? Why does the government want to take the land? And why do protesters aim to stop the developing of the land by Fletcher Building. I had chosen my questions, done my research and had typed up my 600 word essay and referenced all the links of the sites I had visited. Here is my statement about the Ihumatao protests.

Experimental Probability Dice Graph
On Tuesday our class was put into groups of 2 or 3. Each group was given a dice, we were tasked to roll the dice 60 times. What was expected to happen is that we would have 10 of each number but it wasn't very likely because of the experimental probability. Lucas and I had rolled our dice and our results are on the table. After all of us had done that we summed up all of our results onto a table and then put the total results into a graph and summed up the frequency on each number and how much times each number. Here i the graph that I have done. If we had the time we could've made more results, for example if we had 6000 we could have expected to have 1000 of each number, and if we had 6 million we could expect to have 1 million of each number. However, the more rolls someone could get, the bigger we could get for an experimental probability. The graph showed all our classes results from 1-6.
The dark blue graph is 1, the red is 2, the yellow is 3, 4 is green, 5 is orange and 6 is light blue
The graph tells us that the 3 on the dice was the highest number and that 4 was the lowest number.
Here is also the table of our results and the people who rolled the dices.

Shiloh Dynasty
For the last week in our music option we have been researching about an artist that we wanted to choose or a song that we could choose and make a biography about that person or song onto a presentation. I decided to choose Shiloh Dynasty because I like the sort of music that she makes. Here is the presentation I made.
